The 2008 South Island Secondary Schools MotoCross-Individual Championships will be held at Tapanui on Saturday 23rd August.

Who:   Open to all students enrolled as a bona fide (year 7 or above) student at the school of representation for 2008

              and under 19 years of age as at 1/1/2008

Where: Kane’s Property, State Highway 90 Tapanui, 5kms South of Tapanui

Time:    Scrutineering and sign in 8.00am

               Practise 9.30am Racing to follow

MX Classes: 11-13yrs 85cc MX 14-16yrs 85cc MX

              12-16yrs 125cc 2-stroke Moto-X

              14-16yrs 250cc 4-stroke Moto-X

              17yrs & over 250cc (max capacity 125 2-stroke, 250cc 4-stroke, competitors must

              be 17yrs and over and hold a senior licence)

              11-16yrs Girls MX 17yrs & over Girls MX

Farm Bike Classes: (With few exceptions, no water-cooled motorcycles are eligible for this class)

              11-13yrs (max cap 200cc 2 stroke and max cap 300cc 4 stroke)

              14-16yrs (max cap 200cc 2 stroke and max cap 300cc 4 stroke)

              17yrs & over up to 300cc (exceptions for these classes include KDX200 and KLX300)

              (Please ring if you have any concerns about your bikes eligibility for these or any other classes)

              Farm bikes will be Scrutineered

Southland Inter-School Championship – Team of 3 riders required

South Island Inter-School Championship – Team of 3 riders required

Riders must only represent one team. Team entry is optional. Riders may enter as individuals.

Minimum Safety Standards Must Be Adhered To

Good helmet, goggles, chest protector, gloves, long pants, MX boots

MNZ “Day Licences” will be available on the day at NO COST to the rider

Supplementary Regulations

              1. All bikes to have bold, clear numbers.

              2. Organisers reserve the right to regrade riders and alter classes at their discretion.

              3. Southland Secondary School titles can only be won by riders attending schools in the district of Southland.

              4. Minimum age is 11yrs.

              5. NO MNZ LICENCED RIDER TO ENTER FARMBIKE CLASSES!!

              6. Carriers, etc to be removed from bikes in Farm bike class.
